Our traditional sauna
The sauna at Revitalise Hub is an eight-person traditional sauna heated to 85–90°C — hot enough for a proper sweat, with room to sit back and switch off. Communal sessions are capped at five guests, so it never feels packed, or you can book the whole hub privately for up to seven people.
Every one-hour session includes the sauna, our two ice baths at 3–7°C and the red light therapy room, at no extra cost. Use the heat on its own if you prefer, or alternate hot and cold for a full contrast therapy session.

How long should you stay in the sauna?
We recommend 5–20 minutes at a time. If you're new to saunas, start with a shorter round and build up over a few visits. Leave straight away if you feel dizzy, light-headed or unwell, and drink plenty of water before and after your session.
Between rounds, cool down in an ice bath or simply rest, then head back in when you're ready. Most guests do two to four rounds in an hour. Find out more about what's going on in your body in What happens to your body in the heat?
Sauna and ice bath together
Heat and cold make a natural pair. The sauna warms you through and helps you relax; a short dip in a 3–7°C ice bath is a sharp, refreshing contrast that leaves many people feeling awake and clear-headed. Moving between the two is what we mean by contrast therapy, and it's how most of our guests use the hub.

What does the research say about sauna bathing?
Much of what we know comes from Finland, where saunas are part of everyday life. A long-running study of 2,315 middle-aged Finnish men found that those who used a sauna four to seven times a week had a lower risk of fatal heart disease than those who went once a week (Laukkanen et al., JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015). It's an observational study, so it shows a link rather than proof that saunas caused the difference.
Many guests simply come for the warmth and the chance to switch off. If you have a heart condition, low or high blood pressure, are pregnant or have other health concerns, speak to your GP before using a sauna.
